Help restore L' Ecole Primaire Catholique de Butare

July-August 2007

This July 35 volunteers from around the world will travel to Butare, Rwanda to restore The Ecole Primaire Catholic de Butare. All of the classrooms in all of the school buildings have broken windows, damaged or no doors and leaking roofs and have been in disrepair since the genocide of 1994. There are 500 students enrolled at The Ecole Primaire Catholic de Butare, a public school, and they are studying and learning in overcrowded challenging conditions. Our goal this summer is to restore six classrooms that are currently not in use due to damage sustained during war. Two days after we dedicate the new classrooms there will be 200-250 young Rwandans scholars in those classrooms feeling loved and ready to learn.
We need $50,000 to complete the restoration and just about five months to raise the money.

 On dedication day we will mount a plaque on the wall of the new school and it will name the Friends of L'Ecole Primaire Catholique de Butare, all donors, Churches, schools, and civic group that donated at least $100 to the effort.
